what background does the writer give on the issue?
ReplyDelete-That Williams was a huge new anchor and had the highest level job so why would we want to ruin that.
what is her argument?
-She is against what Williams did
give 2-3 supporting examples she provides
"But TV news now is rife with cat, dog and baby videos, weather stories and narcissism. And even that fare caused trouble for Williams when he reported on a video of a pig saving a baby goat, admitting “we have no way of knowing if it’s real,” and then later had to explain that it wasn’t."
"Williams told friends last week that he felt anguished, coming under fire for his false story of coming under fire."
evaluate the ending. Is if effective? why or why not?
"As his profession shrinks and softens, Williams felt compelled to try to steal the kind of glory that can only be earned the hard way."
-I think this is a very bold statement and makes a great point to Williams. I think this is effective and makes a statement like I said to prove that what is did wasn't the right thing.
Do you think news reporters are–or should be–held to a higher standard than other people? What about celebrities in general?
-I think that news reporters should be held to a higher standard because the world is relying on true information that's going on around us. I think news reporters are celebrities in their owns ways, because they devote their lives every day to be on tv.
Do you watch network news? If not, how do you keep up on current events?
-I do watch a new station but also mostly online. CNN, Portland Press, and other major online news papers.
